We're two minutes from Grand Place and right next to Central Station — easy to find, easy to get to, and hard to forget once you've been inside.

Our venue has two floors. Upstairs holds 120 people with a stage, DJ booth, disco ball, booth seating, and a full bar. Downstairs fits 30 people with a projector, speakers, and its own bar. You can rent one or both depending on your event size.

Companies across Brussels have been using The Unusual for everything from conference venue hire to product launch venues. We've had tech startups present on our stage, marketing agencies host networking events, and consulting firms run full-day training sessions in our downstairs space. One PR agency from Avenue Louise even used us as a press conference venue — the journalists stayed two hours longer than expected because they liked the bar.

For team building, we offer chocolate workshops, beer tastings, and sip & paint sessions right here in the venue. No trust falls, no awkward icebreakers. Just good activities in a great space with drinks flowing. Companies from Schuman, Leopold Park, and the whole European Quarter have made us their go-to team building venue.

Need a hybrid event venue? Our WiFi handles live streaming no problem. We've had organizers broadcast talks to 200+ online viewers while 40 people watched in-person. The in-room audience gets the atmosphere, the online audience gets the content. Everybody's happy.

CELEBRATIONS & PRIVATE PARTIES

We have hosted several private parties at The Unusual but became popular locally as baby shower venues in Brussels centre that actually lets you customize everything. Bring your own decorations, your own cake, your own caterer. The downstairs space is perfect for intimate baby showers — cozy, warm lighting, and a bar with great non-alcoholic options for the mom-to-be and her crew.

Every December our holiday party venue bookings fill up fast. We're right next to the Grand Place Christmas market, the disco ball is already hanging, and the bar serves everything from mulled wine to hot chocolate. Book early for Christmas parties and NYE celebrations — seriously, people were crying last year because they waited too long.

We've also hosted beautiful quinceañera celebrations. Families from Schaerbeek, Anderlecht, and beyond have transformed our upstairs into a magical quinceañera venue with flowers, fairy lights, and a DJ spinning reggaeton til the early hours.

CREATIVE & COMMUNITY SPACES

The Unusual is more than just an events venue — its a community event space where real things happen. Our jam sessions have become legendary in the Brussels music scene. Musicians show up from Matonge, Saint-Gilles, and Molenbeek with their instruments, and the night just flows. If your looking for a live music event space in Brussels with a proper stage and sound system, this is it.

For workshop space rental, we've hosted everything from chocolate workshops to crochet sessions to coding bootcamps. The downstairs space is intimate and perfect for hands-on learning. Creative professionals from Ixelles, Forest, and Saint-Gilles rent our space regularly for classes and workshops.

Our downstairs area also doubles as a great film screening space. Film students from INSAS and LUCA have screened their shorts here, and one group runs a monthly cinema club with themed double features. Projector, good sound, and a bar — its like a private cinema but better.

Photographers love us too. As a photo shoot location, The Unusual offers moody lighting, textured walls, a disco ball, booth seating, and a stage — multiple setups without leaving the building. Fashion shoots, brand photography, portraits — every corner tells a different story.
