VEGAN CHOCOLATE OPTIONS IN BRUSSELS
The Unusual Brussels — Chocolate Café

Finding good vegan chocolate options in Brussels used to be a real pain. Most chocolate shops in the Grand Place area dont even think about it. But at The Unusual on Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, we've had vegan chocolate on the menu since day one because — why wouldnt we?
Our hot chocolate can be made with oat milk or "Not Milk" and it tastes just as creamy as the regular version. The 54.5% dark chocolate and the 80% extra dark are both naturally dairy-free, so your not getting some weird substitution. Its actual Belgian chocolate, just without the milk. People are genuinly surprised how good it is.
We also carry vegan chocolate pastries most days. Our baker makes plant-based versions of the pain au chocolat and chocolate muffins, and honestly some of our regulars from the Sainte-Catherine neighbourhood prefer them over the regular ones. They're that good.
For vegan chocolate drinks in Brussels, you've got options here. Dark hot chocolate with oat milk is the most popular — simple, rich, and properly chocolatey. But you can also build your own and add syrups like salted caramel or red berries. No upcharge for plant-based milk either. We think thats how it should be.
A lot of vegan visitors coming through Brussels Central Station or walking from the Marollen find us on Google looking for "vegan chocolate near me." We're glad they do, because the options around Bourse and De Brouckère are pretty limited for plant-based chocolate.
The Unusual is open daily on Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49 in Brussels city centre. Whether you want a quick vegan hot chocolate to go or want to sit down and try a few of our dairy-free chocolate options, we've got you sorted. No judgement, no weird looks — just good chocolate thats vegan.
