HOT COCOA IN BRUSSELS

The Unusual Brussels — Chocolate Café

Theres a difference between hot cocoa and the stuff you make from a packet at home. At The Unusual on Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, our hot cocoa is made with real melted Belgian chocolate — not cocoa powder, not a mix. Actual chocolate, melted into hot milk, right in front of you.

When people in Brussels search for "hot cocoa near me," they usually mean they want something warm, chocolatey, and comforting. Thats exactly what we do. But we give you choices most places dont. Six different Belgian chocolates, three milk options, and a whole menu of toppings and add-ons. Your hot cocoa, your way.

The most popular order? Our 33.6% milk chocolate with cow milk and a marshmallow on top. Classic hot cocoa, done properly. But some people go for the 54.5% dark chocolate version — richer, less sweet, more of that deep cocoa flavor. And the kids? They usually want the ruby chocolate one because its pink. Fair enough.

We're between Grand Place and Brussels Central Station, and in winter this place fills up with people who just want to warm up with a hot cocoa. The christmas market crowd from Place Sainte-Catherine, tourists walking from Manneken Pis, families coming out of the Musical Instruments Museum — they all end up here eventually.

Our hot cocoa in Brussels city centre is also great to go. We do takeaway cups so you can grab one and keep walking. A lot of people take their hot cocoa to the Grand Place, sit on the steps, and just enjoy it. Thats a pretty good Brussels moment right there.

Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49. Real hot cocoa. Real Belgian chocolate. Every day.
