CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS IN BRUSSELS
The Unusual Brussels — Chocolate Café

Our chocolate chip muffins are one of the most grabbed items at the counter. People come in for coffee, see them sitting there all warm and chunky, and just cant resist. We get it. They're really good.
We bake our chocolate chip muffins fresh at The Unusual on Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49. Belgian chocolate chunks — not tiny chips, actual chunks — folded into a soft, slightly dense muffin batter. The tops get that nice crackly dome and the chocolate gets all melty inside. Pair one with a latte or a cappuccino and your morning in Brussels is sorted.
A lot of people walking from Grand Place or Brussels Central Station pop in for a quick breakfast and grab a chocolate chip muffin with their coffee to go. Its fast, its filling, and its way better than whatever the train station bakery is selling. No offense to them, but ours are made with real Belgian chocolate and baked in small batches. You can taste the difference.
We sometimes do variations — double chocolate muffins with cocoa in the batter, chocolate and banana, or chocolate with a salted caramel center that was honestly unfair to every other muffin. Those rotate based on season and baker mood, but the classic chocolate chip muffin is always there.
Regulars from the Marollen and Sainte-Catherine neighbourhoods know to come early if they want the freshest batch. By afternoon they're usually gone, especially on weekends when the Grand Place tourist crowd discovers us.
If your looking for chocolate chip muffins in Brussels city centre, Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49 is the address. Between Grand Place and Central Station, inside a cafe that smells like chocolate and coffee every single morning. Thats us.
