MATCHA COOKIES & CHOCOLATE CHIPS COOKIES IN BRUSSELS — THE UNUSUAL CAFE
The chocolate chips & matcha cookies at The Unusual have a bit of a reputation. People come in for coffee and leave talking about the cookie. It's happened enough times that we've stopped being surprised by it.
Freshly baked, thick, chewy in the middle, slightly crispy on the edges — thats the formula. We don't mess with it because it works. Classic chocolate chip is always available. Then we rotate other flavors depending on the season and what our bakers feel like experimenting with.
Here's the thing about our cookies: they're proper cookies. Not those thin, sad, corporate biscuits you get at chain cafes. These are generous, substantial, "I might need to sit down and enjoy this" cookies. The kind you break in half and theres still enough for two bites.
We've got vegan cookies too, and they're just as good. Made with plant-based ingredients, same chewy texture, same rich taste. People literally cannot tell the difference. We've tested this. Multiple times. With unsuspecting friends.
WHY CHOOSE THE UNUSUAL
A cookie and a cappuccino at The Unusual is one of the best things you can do for yourself on a Brussels afternoon. The sweetness of the cookie, the bitterness of the espresso, the creaminess of the milk — it all works together. An iced latte and a cookie on a warm day? Also incredible.
We're on rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, Bruxelles, between Grand Place and Central Station. If you're walking through the city centre and you need a snack that's going to make your day better — this is it. People from Ilôt Sacré, Marollen, and Saint-Géry already know. Now you do too.
They sell out. Come when you can, eat while they're fresh.
The Unusual, rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, Bruxelles. Cookies in Brussels that people talk about. Open every day.
