ARTISAN COFFEE IN BRUSSELS
Artisan coffee in Brussels has a reputation for being a bit... intense. You walk into some places and feel like you need a certification just to order. At The Unusual on rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, Bruxelles, we do artisan coffee without the attitude. Same quality, none of the gatekeeping.
Our beans come from Wide Awake Coffee and Urkunina — small roasters who source from farms in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and beyond. These aren't generic commercial beans. Each batch is selected for specific flavor profiles, roasted with intention, and shipped fresh. Thats what makes it artisan. Not the price tag. Not the vibe. The beans and the craft.
We've got three main options: Duke is our full-bodied house blend — chocolate and fruit notes, low acidity, smooth finish. Duchess is creamier and sweeter with almond and orange. Harmony is a single origin Colombian — vanilla, milk chocolate, comforting. All roasted for espresso, all pulled fresh by baristas who actually know the difference between under-extracted and over-extracted.
People ask "where can I get artisan coffee near Grand Place?" or "best specialty coffee in Brussels city centre?" — we're on rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères, 49, Bruxelles, two minutes from Central Station. Walk in, sit down, and taste the difference. No quiz at the door.
